Project Manager – Aerospace / Defence sector


The Project Manager will deliver Antenna Systems programmes and management of complex/critical bids. You will be assembling and leading integrated projects teams to deliver new products development and multiple projects. Responsible for delivery of the agreed scope to schedule, cost and quality. Provide support into the IPT lead on a highly complex project or programme.


Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager with previous experience taking projects from initial concept, bids, development, product to the end user. You will be working on complex antenna products and systems for the Air industry.

You will be managing internal and external development projects values from £50K to 25 million.

Managing projects right through to production to customer.

This is a senior level project management role.

Previous project management experience required within the Aerospace sector.

The average Project Lifecyle from 12-24 months.


As a Project Manager, your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 

Degree or equivalent, preferably within an Engineering discipline.

Formally trained/qualified in Project Management – Prince2/APM or similar.

Demonstrable interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all areas of the business including senior stakeholders.

Bid Management.

Experience managing Electro/Mechanical Projects/Programmes.

Background in Electronics, Defence and delivering products to market is key. 


As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will involve: 

Assemble and lead project IPTs (Integrated Project Teams).

Leading teams to develop new products.

Lead multiple complex projects ensuring delivery to time, cost and specification/quality whilst managing risk.

Ensure all Life Cycle Management requirements are met. In particular all LCM reviews and gates to be planned and passed according to the process.

Ensure all milestones are invoiced on time.

Assist with the development of the programme management and bid management processes working with the process leads.
