Aerospace Project Manager – Aerospace, Defence, Military & Civil Communication Systems
Our client is a highly successful global aerospace company they are looking for an Aerospace Project Manager.
The Aerospace Project Manager will deliver Engineering Systems programmes and management of complex/critical bids which will include air, land and sea systems. You will be responsible for assembling and leading Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) in order to deliver new products development and multiple projects of moderate complexity. Responsible for delivery of the agreed scope to schedule, cost and quality. Provide support into the IPT lead on a highly complex project or programme.
As an Aerospace Project Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Experience delivering small projects and working on medium sized projects as Work Package Manager with the same or similar functions and technology, with a proven delivery track record.
Candidates need to have worked in an R & D environment, manufacturing, new product development, Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace products.
Preferably degree educated with experience of working in project teams, or equivalent relevant experience.
Accredited Project Management qualification at level 4 (e.g. PMP, APMP) or willingness to work towards qualification.
Experience of managing of the same or similar functions and technology, with proven delivery track record.
Strong knowledge of the functional disciplines and supply chain partners that require management
As an Aerospace Project Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
Responsibility for managing and delivering the project, with moderate complexity (equivalent to CAT 2 & 3 projects), to the agreed scope and to schedule, cost and quality under limited supervision.
Day to day management of the IPT, including organising, coordinating and directing the project activities to achieve agreed project objectives.
Definition of project management plan to include responsibility matrix and cost and resource plans. Management to this defined baseline once approved.
Tracking schedule, cost and resource including assessing EAC when required using appropriate tools. Communicating to external and internal customers through regular reviews.
Conducting formal cost and schedule variance analysis and the development of any recovery plans required to recover schedule or cost variances
Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers and key subcontractors
Responsibility for the financial performance of the project in terms of sales, cash and profit and meeting all business case requirements.
Proactively manage customer and internally generated changes in project scope, managing contract variations to optimise costs and margins
Responsible for all cost, schedule and technical aspects of all procurements and subcontracts within scope of the contract or cost account, under appropriate supervision.
Identifying and monitoring technical, schedule & cost risks (threats and opportunities) and following standard processes to plan and implement responses to them
Lead or participate in Program Reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and other project or management reviews.
Following the standard lifecycle management procedures in order to deliver against the requirements of the business.
