Cloud Software Architect 

 

Job Overview

As a Cloud Software Architect, you will be responsible for developing cloud solutions for proof of concepts and products. You will work closely with development teams of different product lines to help them migrate their products to the cloud. Part of your role will also involve interacting with customers to understand their requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of the latest cloud technologies, platforms and trends that will affect the products within the Business Unit
  • Work with development teams to develop cloud solutions for proof of concepts and products
  • Develop migration strategy of products to cloud
  • Assist in the development of product and technology roadmaps
  • Mentor and support staff on cloud technologies

 

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation technologies and/or commercial public/private cloud environments.
  • Experience of real-time performance needs of bare metal applications, including networking stacks and QoS; moving them to containerised cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GKE)

 

Your skills and qualifications will ideally include most or all, of the following:

  • At least 5+ years of work experience designing, executing, and supporting IT Cloud solutions
  • Podman/Docker container experience.
  • Software development under Linux, C/C++ and scripting skills
  • Networks and networking (routing and protocols)
  • Very good understanding of cloud computing technologies and recent computing trends and familiarity with enterprise architecture and enterprise application integration
  • Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and designing and building large scale high performing latency sensitive applications in these environments
  • Understanding of Virtualized/Cloud environment deployment, tooling and production deployments in such environment e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Knowledge of how to test and profile performance in cloud environments.
  • Experience automating the software dev/test/deployment lifecycle with continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Understanding of key security concepts in a cloud environment
  • Practical knowledge of Agile Software development methodology
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships cross-functionally and across all levels
  • Able to influence senior stakeholders and business owners
  • The ability to influence change and lead by example
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and inspire at all levels
