Engineering Accountable Manager – Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Military, MRP Part 145, EASA Part 145.


Our client is a highly successful global aviation company, they are currently recruiting n Engineering Accountable Manager to provide leadership and management of Depth Maintenance activities in support of the Sentry Whole Life Support Programme. The position is responsible to the Technical Director Europe for the management and performance of maintenance activities and staff in support of the Sentry Whole Life Support Programme and associated contractual activities.   The aviation sector is highly regulated.  Safety and compliance are the highest priority and the Accountable Manager must role model, drive and develop an engaged safety culture amongst the Sentry team.  You will be working in a military environment in a challenging role, strong leadership skills are essential for this position.


Maintenance and the associated support activity on the Sentry platform is complex and requires the incumbent to effectively manage a range of stakeholders.  As such the Accountable Manager must retain a strong customer focus in delivering on the contract but aligned to the broader Company strategic aims.  As such, the Accountable Manager needs to be prepared to work additional hours, be on call after hours, travel (sometimes for extended periods at short notice) and relate to a broad range of clients.


As an Engineering Accountable Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Extensive knowledge and understanding of all applicable MRP Part 145 or EASA Part 145 regulatory requirements are essential.

Sound knowledge of the principles and practical experience of the execution of an aviation Safety Management System.

Previous experience as a Manager within an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation or equivalent Sector.

Excellent communication skills with proven ability to provide briefings/presentations/technical reports to stakeholders at all levels.

Problem solving, with ability to grasp issues and provide possible remedies.

Effective leadership and management skills.

Previous experience with on-aircraft maintenance activities.

Degree educated.

Ex-Military or experience working within or with military contracts.

Human Factors Awareness and Training.

Strong focus on aviation safety and compliance.


As an Engineering Accountable Manager your accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Safety, legal and regulatory compliance and performance against the MRP, the Companies Safety Management System and any other applicable regulatory requirements.

Monitoring, controlling and managing contract related activity to meet financial and operational performance targets.

Acting in the best interests of the Company and the customer by creating and maintaining strong working relationships at the appropriate level.

Acting in an effective leadership capacity to meet staff welfare, development and succession planning needs.
