IT Support Technician


Our client is looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to the IT Systems Manager. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s systems including Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Exchange environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities. This role is located near Woking and offers a Salary of £20,000 to £25,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.


IT Support Technician key responsibilities include:

To support the IT Systems Manager with day to day IT issues and to be responsible for providing 1st line technical support for Company users

Maintaining operational applications; assisting in securing, and storing electronic data that belongs to the organisation

Develop an ongoing professional relationship with the Group’s external IT support company seeking their guidance and assistance where appropriate

Response to user problems/requests, carry out repairs/fixes and escalate where necessary either to the IT Systems Manager or our External IT consultants

Monitor current systems and performance

Keep records of hardware, software, network users, etc.

To upgrade or replace equipment where necessary. Liaise with and obtain quotations from vendors with regard to purchasing hardware and software

Provide IT inductions and training on logging into systems for both new and existing staff in the company where applicable

To diagnose, resolve and assist in the maintenance, installation and repair of the company’s IT facilities to ensure continuity of service

To be able to set up and configure new laptops, desktops, mobile phones and other IT equipment and install authorised software and to disable expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements for new and existing users

To manage Company printers with the external Print Management Company

Troubleshoot any Network Connectivity issues

To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the company


IT Support Technician required skills:

Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar IT Support Role or with transferable skills

Good working knowledge of Windows / Microsoft Operating Systems

Understanding of TCP/IP Networking

Network Printing

Active Directory

To be able to work as part of a small IT Team with minimal supervision

A problem solver with a can-do attitude, able to manage time and effectively multi-task

Great customer facing skills and with excellent telephone manner

A strong communicator in both written and verbal English

A self-starter, there will be a requirement for you to work alone on provided work



Salary IRO £25,000 pa, commensurate with experience

Additional production bonus (variable but approx. 4% basic salary payable monthly in arrears), linked to the value of goods invoiced from the UK factory base.

Full time, permanent position, 36 hour week – Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 5.15pm, 9.00am – 5.00pm Friday with one hour lunch
