Our client is currently recruiting a Payroll Officer to be based in Wimborne, Dorset. Your role will be to complete the monthly payrolls ensuring that all data capture reflects authorised changes and that data is provided within fixed monthly deadlines. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the payroll is accurate for company and employees and that all statutory reporting requirements are met for payroll taxes. As Payroll Officer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Qualified Payroll Professional
Experience of administering several PAYE payrolls and working with a third-party payroll service provider - essential
Experience and an understanding of International payrolls - preferred
Proven experience of operating in a similar role within an equivalent FTSE business
Accurate, timely monthly payroll.
Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the payroll processing within the Company
Ensure compliance with Statutory & Employment Law regulations.
As Payroll Officer your main responsibilities will involve:
Complete monthly payrolls for the UK. This to include revision of data provided by HR / third parties for accuracy; updating Payroll system to reflect changes: calculating adjustments; reconciling calculated payroll against previous month; complete reconciliation checks prior to issue of sign off reports to HR/Finance for approval; review salary sacrifice and pension auto-enrolment submissions to ensure data is accurate for pension provider.
Issue / Upload monthly reports to third party providers to reflect payments / payroll changes e.g. Shares, Pensions, etc.
Work with the Payroll Manager and other Payroll Officers to ensure the divisions of duties between HR and Payroll are clear and that the processes are smoothly delivered
Assist the Payroll Manager to develop efficient third-party payroll procedures – to include positive and negative feedback; improve operational processes; create good working relationships.
Assist the Payroll Manager in creating a formal guide/training guide/flowcharts for the Company with identified improvements and efficiencies.
Maintain CPD on UK Payroll, legislative, tax and employment regulation changes
Where involved with the International payrolls, run monthly payrolls for varied countries. This to include revision of data for accuracy; calculating payrolls; tax payments; currency conversions; and reconciliation of monthly submissions prior to HR/Finance approval; liaising with third party International payroll support; ensuring local reporting requirements are met.
