PMO Manager – Electronics, Defence, Aerospace, Communication Systems

 

Our client is a highly successful global company, they are looking for an experienced PMO Manager, you ideally come from an electronics, defence, aerospace, manufacturing background. You will be working on new projects, and Products programmes. You will be experienced in Risk Management and Resource management. You will be looking after the portfolio of programmes 20-30 of different values/sizes. Experience, developing, implementing and deploying and running portfolio programme and project management processes. You will be an MS Project Expert, in the next 3-6 months you will be key in rolling out MS Project Server Implementation.

 

The Job Role – PMO Manager:

The role will be responsible for providing comprehensive and specialist support and consultancy services to projects and programmes to enable their managers to make decisions based on good quality information and assurance. 

Supporting MS Project Server Implementation and Rollout

Responsible for driving development and continuous improvement in the Portfolio, Programme and Project Management processes.

Services will be provided to multiple projects and programmes concurrently and will include specialisms around stakeholders, communications, schedule and resource planning across a portfolio, financial analysis and project assurance and consultancy. 

 

As the Senior PMO Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 

Strong knowledge of project management processes, tools, performance measurement and metrics.

MS Project Expert- able to mentor PM’s.

Resource Management.

Risk Management.

Ideal candidate will have a background in Electronic, Defence or Manufacturing.

Scenario Planning.

Experience developing, implementing and deploying and running Portfolio, Programme and Project Management processes.

Highly numerate and analytical.

Experience reporting and tracking Metrics and Financial Data for Projects.

Expert user of software tools including Microsoft Project and Excel.

Knowledge of budget development.

Understanding of Configuration Management.

Preferably degree educated (or equivalent relevant experience) with experience of working in project teams

Ideally achieved APMP/PMP accreditation or equivalent qualification

Ideally experience running projects/ programmes of moderate complexity
