Project Planner - Aerospace, Defence

Our client is a highly successful global aerospace company. They a currently recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to work within an Integrated Project Team (IPT). The Project Planner is responsible for providing Project Planning, Scheduling, Estimating, Resource Management and Earned Value/budget control subject matter expertise. Monitoring and updating schedule progress and reviewing, analysing performance data and processing variances in managing change. Producing reports and providing insight for key decision-making. Working closely with Programme/Project Managers to develop detailed schedules identifying all necessary tasks to be allocated to Control Accounts to effectively manage the work through to completion. The Project Planner will support the development and maintenance of planning policies, processes, procedures and work instructions. 


As a Project Planner your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Experience of working with large complex systems engineering type projects/programmes.

  • Experience of working within the Aerospace and Defence Industry is highly desirable or a safety critical industry.

  • Previous experience in a similar planning role.

  • APM/PRINCE2/PMI qualified desirable.

  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge and experience of using an Earned Value Management System.

  • Experience with ERP systems desirable.

  • Must be a self-starter, imaginative and creative with good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel as required by role.
  • Strong planning ability, contingency planning.
