Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 plus excellent benefits
Shift: Earlies – Monday to Friday (06:00 to 14:15)
Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team, this role is located at our client’s site in Southampton in Hampshire and will be working Monday- Friday 6.00-14.15 - Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Previous Quality inspection experience is required ideally within an aerospace or similar industry.
As Quality Inspector, you will support assigned production value stream(s) through the inspection and certification of aerospace parts against drawings, model-based definitions, and other design data to ensure production requirements are achieved safely, on time and to the customer specifications. You will be expected to use various measuring equipment, depending on product type, to validate that the product conforms to the part drawing and customer specifications. On the job training will be provided to develop the required skills / competency to discharge the role.
Quality Inspector Requirements
Qualification - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, or time-served apprenticeship in allied trades
Previous experience of using measuring equipment, including micrometres, verniers, height gauges and shadow graphs
Able to read and understand engineering/design drawings, specifications, and part drawings (accessed via PC)
Excellent report writing skills
PC literate including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
Proven good communication skills
A pro-active attitude
Desire to learn and evolve with the business
There are certain aspects of this role that require mechanical / manual lifting of parts so some lifting will be required, and you must be capable of undertaking activities with appropriate assistance if required.
