Sales Manager – Industrial Automation, Special Purpose Machinery

 

Our client is a successful innovative company specialising in bespoke automation projects. Working amongst new and exciting technologies in a challenging / rewarding environment.

 

They have an expert in house team delivering concepts that produce solutions to their customers production problems.

 

They design Special Purpose Machines, Complete Production Lines, Industrial Robotics, & Control Systems.  Clients include Automotive, Food/Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Electronics, Plastics, Aggregates

 

Candidate requirements - Sales Manager:

The ideal candidate will have an automation background with sales experience in automation or very similar field. The managerial side of the role could be an already developed manager looking for a new role or an experienced sales individual looking for the next career step.

The role is to fill a gap in the team and expand the sales function within the Company. They will initially manage a team of 2 but with a brief to grow the business and the sales team to suit that growth.

 

Qualifications – Sales Manager:

An Engineering qualification e.g. Mechanical Engineering Degree, HND, HNC. Apprenticeship or equivalent

 

Key responsibilities – Sales Manager:

  • To agree sales targets with the Sales Director and ensure the company meets these sales targets, profitably.
  • To develop a broader customer base for the Company and maintain good business relationships with existing customers
  • To generate and develop profitable new business opportunities utilising the existing skills and resources of the company
  • In conjunction with the senior management of the Company, to develop and implement strategy to generate new business opportunities for the company
  • To communicate customer requirements to the production team.
  • To identify and implement improvements in the performance of your duties with a view to improving the efficient operation of your department/ function and/ or the business.
  • Account management
  • Manage a team of two and grow the sales team
