Senior Network Engineer – CCNP, Cisco, LAN, WAN, Internet and Wireless Service Delivery  


A highly successful global IT, Network Innovations company require a Senior Network Engineer for a virtual global team that supports and maintains global enterprise network and communication services at more than 50 locations worldwide. 


This role is focused on: LAN, WAN, Internet, & Wireless service delivery supporting 70 sites and works closely with the Voice & Collaboration Architect and Senior Information Security Analysts to design and deliver services.  


Qualifications and Experience – Senior Network Engineer

  • CCNP Certification Required, CCIE or CCIE Written a PLUS

  • Extensive hands on experience managing Cisco LAN Switches

  • Extensive hands on experience managing Cisco WAN/Internet Routers

  • Extensive hands on experience managing WiFi (Any Vendor, Cisco Preferred)

  • Demonstrable experience troubleshooting end user network issues

  • Experience designing network service solutions

  • Experience supporting a global MPLS WAN

  • Expert Level Knowledge of QoS

  • Expert Level Knowledge of BGP

  • Experience managing DHCP Services

  • Expert understanding of the OSI Reference Model & TCP/IP

  • Experience and ability to collect and analyse packet captures

  • Experience provisioning, installing, & configuring, service provider circuits (MPLS, Internet, SIP, PRI, etc)


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with some or all of the following:

  • SD-WAN

  • Riverbed Steelhead WAN Optimization Appliances, Cascade, CMC

  • Basic understanding of voice and video services (Skype for Business Preferred)

  • Conferencing Service Support (Skype, WebEx, GoToMeeting)

  • AWS Cloud Computing Services

  • Solarwinds Network Monitoring Tools

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure

  • IPAM (InfoBlox)

  • HP ProCurve Switches

  • Cisco ACS & ISE

  • Working Knowledge of VPNs (Site-to-site VPNs & Cisco AnyConnect)

  • Scripting / programming knowledge

  • Log Management & analysis (SPLUNK)

  • Proxy server operational knowledge

  • Server admin knowledge & experience (MS and Linux)


Duties/Responsibilities – Senior Network Engineer: 

Serving as the technical authority for network technology and is the escalation point for remediation of network service issues. 

Diagnosing highly complex and integrated systems and determining remedial actions to solve problems. 

Providing technical leadership to others in handling major product or service related responsibilities spanning multiple systems and impacting major business operations.  

Focusing on short- and long-term design and operation of LAN and WAN services, within a team that also delivers Voice and Information Security services.  

Tuning network components to achieve optimum performance. 

Evaluating and determining timing of new product introductions and obsolescence of existing products and technologies. 

Acting as the project leader for critical, time driven, and/or highly visible network service projects.  

Working on complex problems requiring expertise in network design which typically involve the coordination of multiple groups to include vendors, desktop, and system administration.
