Job Overview – Technical Project Manager
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing Software development projects for their network test solutions. The role primarily requires working in conjunction with their hardware project managers and software development teams to deliver projects related to 5G and beyond.
Ideally looking for candidates with a Wireless Telecommunications Engineering background with technical project/product management skills within a product development company.
Key Responsibilities Technical Project Manager:
- To create, manage and track projects. Including:Project schedules; Cost Estimates; Status reports; Risk management; Policing the development processes
- Manage day to day activities of projects and staff; and communicate with project teams as required to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and meet requirements
- Ensure that Business Unit, Software and Hardware groups are coordinated on deliveries
- Resource planning in conjunction with the Product and Programme Managers
- Manage the full agile life cycle of software development
- Management of systems based on existing products and modules (In-depth knowledge of hardware module development not required)
- Support the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope
- Promote company quality practices using the guidance provided to assist the teams in constantly improving the quality of their deliverables and meeting the Definition of Done (DoD)
- Motivate and coordinate inter-team cooperation to ensure the team operates efficiently
- Establish and drive project goals with a key focus on delivery
Your skills and qualifications re role of Technical Project Manager will ideally include:
- Wireless Telecommunications Engineering background, with technical project/ product management skills within a product development company
- Good planning skills and experience with product development
- Experience in deployment of software solutions in cloud environments
- Telecoms knowledge is highly desirable and would be an advantage
- Familiarity with Global Compliance standards such as CE, FCC etc.
- Strong collaboration and team working skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships cross-functionally and across all levels
- Able to influence senior stakeholders and business owners
- The ability to influence change and lead by example
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and inspire at all levels
- Comprehensive communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to manage complex and multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Proven proactivity and drive
- Ability to solve significant and unique issues using in depth evaluation of variable factors
- Makes recommendations on strategic decisions
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Telecommunications, Physics, Electronics or equivalent
