Jobs are continuing to soar to record highs, with 2.29 million active job adverts at the beginning of this month.
The post-pandemic recovery is continuing with the employment rate up another 0.5% compared to the last quarter. The unemployment rate has now fallen for eight months in a row. This has come as a surprise to many experts who were expecting a jobs crisis.
At the same time, there’s nearly a million fewer people in the labour market than before the pandemic. This is believed to be down to fewer older people being in work and more young people in education.
