This role is ideal for a CNC Machinist/Miller/Turner who is looking to move into an office role or someone that has already made the move.
As a Sales Support Engineer your main role will be to provide support to sales and engineering in delivering customer products and supporting tooling activities to ensure our clients engineering and production team have everything they need to fulfil their customers’ requirements.
You will be working with both the sales and engineering departments, so you must have a sound understanding of production engineering with reference to CNC machining.
The right candidate will have the ability to plan CNC machining operations. They will ensure that they are carried out efficiently by using their knowledge of materials. Experience of CNC machining is essential.
You will need to be familiar with ERP or MRP production control systems as well as be able to utilise CAD and Microsoft Office software to produce documentation and reports.
You will be required to work with the Engineering/Programming dept. and outside suppliers to procure appropriate tools, jigs and fixtures.
Responsibilities for this Sales Support Engineer role include:
- Creation of parts, BOM’s and route planning on the ERP system
- Collaborating with the workshop to establish best practices
- Working with suppliers to Create works orders, purchase orders and subcontract documentation
- Placing Purchase Orders for tooling
- Gathering and collating data for cost vs price analysis
- Preparation of metrics for reports to Commercial Manager
- Supporting sales in the creation of customer quotations
- General Duties as required conducive to efficient running of the Sales and Engineering departments
Previous experience must include:
- Knowledge of the aerospace sub-contracting industry
- Experience of CNC machining and mechanical assembly
- Effective data collection and reporting skills
- Knowledge of ERP or MRP production control systems
- Familiarisation with aerospace and ISO Quality standards
The role is offered as a contracted 40-hour week, with a salary between £30-45K.
