Gregory Martin currently has two roles for a successful technical consultancy based in Winchester. They are seeking positive and enthusiastic Consultants with a passion for digital enablement and for helping clients succeed.

Their latest roles include those for a Principal Consultant in the government and defence sector. 

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with demonstrable experience in developing Cat A 5-case model Business Cases within the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Government (Navy, Submarine, Army). 

This role combines a sound knowledge of delivering consultancy work, with strategic business case leadership. You will be focussing on the strategic and economic case, optioneering, evidence and approvals. 

You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships 

This is a hybrid role, so you will be required to travel to sites mainly in the Southeast, Southwest and London, with occasional trips to other parts of the UK and Scotland.  The role is a mix of working at client sites, in the office and remote working. 

They’re also looking for a Principal Consultant /Senior Consultant 

For this role you will need experience working with Dstl, Defence Digital, DE&S, Frontline Commands or UK Defence industry.

 Skills/qualifications and experience required also include:

  • Experience eliciting requirements and defining business processes in complex environments.
  • Advanced data analysis in Excel, including VBA
  • Decision making techniques and processes
  • Operating models and organisational design
  • Understanding of data science, data analysis and visualisation tools and best practice.
  • Knowledge of current software development using Python
  • Effectively managing delivery teams to deliver high quality results.
  • Interest and knowledge of technology and analysis approaches and best practice.
  • The ability to engage and enthuse personnel, and provide effective support and challenge, across all areas and at all levels within client organisations.

You will need a degree, MBA or equivalent experience. A project management qualification (such as APMP) would also be useful. 

The salary ranges from £50K to £90K according to your level of experience, plus bonus and excellent benefits.
