The role is for a Optical / Digital Instrumentation Manufacturer who has an impressive newly built facility located on the outskirts of Woking, Surrey. This is an excellent and exciting full-time opportunity to join a well-established company, established in 1958. 

As Design Manager / Head of Design you would work closely with Production Engineering, Quality & Machine Shop. 

This is a technical leadership and departmental management role; therefore you must be an approachable, supportive, and motivational leader with good formal engineering or science-based qualification(s) and several years’ experience.

Ideally you will have experience in a Design Management role in one or more of the following sectors:  

  • Instrumentation of any type, but typically, analytical, industrial, consumer

  • Optics / Microscopy

  • Imaging / Photonics, or other sector of relevance.  

As well as technical management capabilities, you need to have a good working understanding  of the materials, processes and methods involved with low to mid volume instrumentation. 

You will enjoy a basic salary IRO £100,000 per annum depending on experience. Benefits also include production bonus, pension, private health, life insurance, 24 days holiday and development opportunities.
